Our Story

TXR was founded in 2011 with a clear mission: to eliminate the disconnects that plague traditional construction projects.

Tom Roof, AIA, the principal architect behind TXR, spent over a decade running TR, i Architects before recognizing a persistent problem in the industry. He watched talented architects create beautiful plans that contractors couldn't build within budget. He saw builders compromise design integrity to meet financial targets. And he witnessed property owners caught in the middle, managing conflicts between separate firms that blamed each other when problems arose.

The solution was integration. By combining architectural design and construction management under one roof, TXR delivers what Tom calls "architect-led design-build”, a model where the person who designs your building oversees its construction from groundbreaking through final walkthrough.

Since 2011, TXR has completed custom homes, major renovations, and commercial developments across Lake of the Ozarks. Our portfolio includes everything from 12,000 sq ft lakefront estates to resort hotels, medical facilities to performance boat showrooms. Every project benefits from the same disciplined approach: thoughtful design, competitive bidding, transparent pricing, and single-source accountability.
